Iron Mountain and O’Neil Software have announced plans to integrate their records management software. It should allow record storage customers to view their records across multiple vendors. The plan is to finish the project by the first quarter of 2012.
Boxes stored in any location that uses one of the companies software solutions will be available for inventory in one system. Both companies think that by integrating software solutions that customers will be able to set company wide standards. This is always the first step to legal compliance.
This is a bit surprising that Iron Mountain is interested in working with outside vendors. It makes things much better for document storage customers but will make it easier for them to use an à la carte plan to choosing records storage services. I suspect this is the influence of new CEO Richard Reese.
